Objective

The insurance company had a clear goal: to significantly increase the email engagement of non-customers and to noticeably increase the conversion rate for their transactions. And they were going to do it in a big way! The goal was to develop an absolutely innovative email marketing strategy that integrates an interactive premium calculator beyond the conventional, static email format. The customer wanted to reach potential customers in a new and exciting way, and to actively involve them in the decision-making process. They also wanted to offer them immediate, interactive options for action through the interactive premium calculator – and in a way that would inspire everyone!

Challenge

The objective was to develop an email widget that functions as an interactive premium calculator and integrates seamlessly into the insurance customer’s existing email system, while taking into account the strict corporate design requirements. Furthermore, the procedure had to be designed in accordance with data protection regulations to ensure that sensitive information is not disclosed or that any conclusions drawn about the pricing of the insurance modules are not misinterpreted. It was hoped that the effectiveness of the premium calculator could be confirmed by an A/B test, in which the performance could be measured in comparison to a static email variant. It was felt that it was crucial that the widget functioned exclusively within the customer’s email delivery system, met the highest security standards and at the same time offered an intuitive user experience.

Solution

mailix’s innovative, fold-out widget, integrated directly into the insurance customer’s mail system, is an interactive premium calculator that is sure to make an impact. The widget gave users the freedom to choose from a range of insurance options. Users simply click on the corresponding tabs and enter relevant data, such as the size of the household, and the system calculates the customised information and annual premiums. The widget adapts to the user’s input, offering a highly personalised experience. Furthermore, mailix equipped each clickable element of the interactive premium calculator within the widget with a tracking option, allowing the insurance customer to analyse user engagement with precision. This functionality was integrated directly into the client’s email delivery system, providing detailed insights into the target audience’s interactions and preferences. The client was able to evaluate the effectiveness of their campaigns and optimise the widget’s content for future iterations by collecting this data.

The widget guaranteed that all interactions and user data were processed exclusively within the client’s email delivery system. I can confirm that no personal user data was transferred outside of this system or to mailix. The widget’s security architecture guaranteed that all data was encrypted and stored within the customer’s protected infrastructure, ensuring user privacy and compliance with data protection regulations. We created a secure and reliable user experience that meets the customer’s high internal security standards.

We designed the widget’s user interface to be easy to use, even for less technically-minded users. The simple and intuitive design ensures that users can interact with the interactive elements and efficiently access the desired information without any technical hurdles
